Final Round

While all teams went into the previous round with hopes of winning the league, not all came out with their hopes intact.

After the last round’s results, RM and SA have crashed and burned while the other 4 teams of MCU, Shiock, FP and SS still have a genuine shot at the title, some more equal than others.

The fights are on as follows :-

1st match : MCU vs Shiock
Whoever wins this match will be the super-hot favourites for the title.

2nd match : SA vs RM
The wooden spoon match. Crucial for SA to win if they don’t want to be last.

3rd match : SS vs FP
A must win for either teams. A draw or defeat will disqualify them from the title challenge.

4th match : MCU vs RM
Depending on the results of Match 1 and Match 3, MCU may or may not need the points from this match as the title could have been theirs by now.

5th match : SA vs FP
Iregardless of the other matches results, FP will want maximum points to finish as high as possible.

6th match : SS vs Shiock
Depending on the results of all the other matches, this could either be the grand finale or dead rubber.

Good luck to all.

I think the MVP should be voted out from the other players. Pieces of paper be given out to each player...just write down the name of the player they think should be MVP. And later just count who has the most votes. Winner presented at dinner. Any other suggestions? Or was that plan in mind?

I doubt there will be time for any friendlies after the games... please use the time to go wash up!

Or wait.. Verat, are you saying the following weeks?

I like the idea of friendly matches.

SS hasn't had the option of fielding a full squad as Jeshua was injured the very first game and I'm out for the rest of the season. With the exception of the one game against Shiock, I've never played with everyone available. Maybe after everything is done we can give it a go? >:)

that's where they start being assimilated into any teams that short of men. the idea is to keep the ball rolling even when the league ends. so by the time next league starts, we already have men somewhat knowing how to play as a team.

i believe the above is just another way of our commitment to having leagues and to motivate us all to have it frequently.

and while these friendlies are in place, brush up those rulez and regulations and iron it out during those matches.

very good idea but hard to pull off; especially if for the managers.

simple reason being, our biggest AGONY everyweek is deciding who to start and who get to play for how long.

i definitely would not like to play GOD every week and decide who to play when and where, especially when the league is having a break.

let those poor souls play their heart out freely, rather than always waiting to see whether their time is up to be substituted against their wishes, or waiting listlessly for the manager to put them on.

they r paying the same money, so why should the play less, right?

but it's a good idea, we just need work out something out that will not discouraged or victimised anyone....any ideas?

Yeah, so this coming sunday we give all those reserve players special food? In actual fact, averagely each player will play 40 mins (2 games) subs maybe play only 10 mins?

maybe for friendlies all players in a team are treated equal, no managers but just players. if such team has overflowing of players, form another team. coz at this moment no strict rulez on creating new teams on da fly. the idea is promoting team building.

new team creation flexibility and all playing freely and paying equally still persist. there may be pros and cons to this as there is some grey areas unseen. any discussions on this are welcome.

In Game Theory for everyone to have a winning chance, nobody get to choose first. so in this case, Matthew will have to choose his own team mates to form his own team or any team he chooses. this way all is fair and nobody lose except the loser himself.

victor,
uncle would like to encourage u to improve further in ur soccer.
u played very well, good positioning sense n u learning to use ur size to ur advantage, intially you thought cos of ur size, u are in disadvantage, but now u know, it has advantages as well.
during the pinnacle height of malaysia soccer era, merdeka cup was the most prestigious cup in asia then, many teams from around the world would send their temas to play n try to win the merdeka cup, played at merdeka stadium then.
if im not wrong bout the name of this team. i think it was either kuwait or saudi arabia, either one of em, that team have a defender much huge than you and he is playing for his national team in merdeka tournament!!. what more, he played as defender, in one particular match, he was the man of the match, cos he excel so well in defence, casing his team to defeat another team n thus advance into the finals.
yes victor, he is the national player for his nation, he presented his nation in soccer!!!
i also noticed you use your speeds (big guys do have speed, and you used it well n know when to use it n the length of it n duration of ur speed,
its very heartening to see you doin very well this season victor, keep on playin to improve ur soccer victor,
daniel (andy son) is another exciting player, he improved so much compared to the last time, one of the improvements is he able to take some knocks n still keep coming back n torment the defenders at will, thats the making of a striker besides also scoring more goals now.

the last week match, i was impressed with jianyi play, he kept harassin fighting n coming down to help out his defence n tackle for the ball n most importantly. he shoots he take shots after shots, that is wat all bout, strikers take shots n if u want goals, then take shots.
.
shamshen is playing not for shick04, but we cannot compared that he let in more goals now than previously, cos previously shiok has very sound defence n shiock click n gel as a team very fast n in kok wai, anyone who played kok wai in, u find ur team being scored against less!!! no offense to shamshen present team defence,
so we cant say he not doin well now just becos he let in more goals, but where his team is now, speak also how well he has gave his temamates the confident to where they sit on the list now.besies that. his present team has hit form at the right time n they learning to gel n blend as a team now.
thats how we should see beside watchin him play week in n week out.
he made quite number crucial saves that helped his team to hwere they are now.
if anyone of u guys become manager, im not surprise, everyone would tried to get shamshen to be their shot stopper. he be the 1st shot stopper in every manager list.

jeshua, is another player worth mentioning here, shawn team were struggling in last week 1 st game till jeshua came in, both jeshua n shawn combined very well then,

shawn, is very good, but i believe he has more potentials than just an out n out striker, skilful fast, good shots,(hey shawn, u owed me, its you who broke my fingers!! a crate of tiger beers)

kok wai, small but what we said chili api!!! tough no nonsense defender and thats what a defender is, consistent performer week after week, im sure many of u guys agreed with me that its not easy to beat kok wai off the ball. he like a bull!!!maybe he drinking bull stout!!! but im very impressed with his performances, even in the 1st season.how many of u guys think you can get past kok wai easily?
i dunt think so, kok wai is even much better than me in defence that i honestly say so, uncle more a creative player in the middle of the field n thats the position my soccer blosomed though i have experience n able to play in other positions as well.

alwin, his 2 goals last week, showed how maturity his game is and that is when he put his mind into it!!! he finsihed with with cool execution especially side flickin it to the corner of the goal. cool finisher, this guy is actually very skillful n very good dribbler of the ball, wish he more consistent performer,

these are the guys who hav caught my attentions so far in this competiton

in view of the tightness of the league standings, just to confirm, are we gonna follow the universally accepted tie-breaker in case of teams with same points?

this means that in the event of same points, next criteria is the GOAL DIFFERENCE (gf - ga).

if still same, then we look at goal for (gf).

if still same, then we look at number of wins.

best to confirm now since everyone is still neutral.

lol.. i can admit.. kok wai is a tough defender to beat.. :) played against him during play play games.. lol.. really hard to shake him off.. :) uncle andy also another one :)

i take my hats off for Victor for bringing his team to where they are now even if they lose the cup(touch wood.. but no offence to shiock04).. all i`m saying is... even if victor loses or wins the league.. my respect still goes to him for his managing skills :)

as for kok wai as a manager... he already has my respects when i was in his team ;) and if you know my style of football.. i would certainly suit in with kok wai`s tactics(provided the other team members also do as kok wai has instructed) :) his tactics were the best football moments for me in the league(last season) :)

i would love to play the creative midfield centre position again but if only i could, my age factor deprive me of it, for me i excelled well in this role and thats where soccer took the height in my soccer career.
i started my soccer playing as a goalkeeper. that was my first position, then when i played in the junior league for the club i was then converted and trained to play as left winger.
it was this position that a state official saw my talent and told my coach where i should be groomed n play at.
thus i was then groomed n taught to play as a midlfield creative centre.
and as age caught up with me through the years went by, i was taught n trained to play centre defence. i also had played as full back occasionally epscially when the team full backs are out due to injuries n suspensions.
its just that im flexible, willing to play where my coaches asked me to, but defending, goalkeeper, wing are not my greatest strengths, it just that i can play in those positions but its the midfield centre creative role that where i excelled, guys.
this role required quick thinking and alert n vision of the game, besides u must have good ball control and skills,
that why i still do jugglings when ever i can cos it helps players like me to able to trap n control the ball properly. frankly saying defending is never my cup of tea and it just that i can play defend. kok wai and andy are the right type, made to play as defenders cos their game n style of play is defending.
a centre midfield like me tend to hold the ball relsease it n ask for it back n then try to do something with the ball creative, we are creative type of players, we love to set up and open up the game, this role takes lots of energy as we play in the centre and we have to be quick both in our actions in play n minds. so it zapped out the energy much from us.
as i aged now, its impossible for me to play this role, (christopher yong the goalie) know i played this role for metro in the national youth day then, christoper yong is actually a defender, last man, but he plays goalkeeping now. i called him mr cool!!! cool christopher!
thats why i said, ppl like kok wai n andy , many find it hard to get the better of em, cos they are defence made n tailored for this role.

they are the ones whom you young guys should watch and learnt from, especially those who are defenders.
the bottom line is both kok wai and andy are good defenders and much better than me frankly, cos uncle peter say so .
i dont butter people as some of you old timer in the church know my character, i said what i felt it right and need to say, meaning i dont carry peoples and im straight forward.(at times too straight forward).
defenders are tough, thats their natural styles of play, and there are bites in their tackles, u can feels it, but they not dirty, meaning you can feels the impact of their tackles when they go in for the ball.

in kok wai and andy, you have two very good experienced defenders. learn from them u you guys.

Well I played with many many kinds of players throughout my 22yrs of football playing....I enjoy playing here...got a nice and balance blend of young and fast together with the older, wise and yet steady players....

I may not be as agile, fast and creative as I used to be but its encouraging to see many moves the younger players can show. It drives me to play better every week. I hope i did not disappoint my teammates from FP and SS.

ding dong of the east, i think i know who you are. ive seen you played soocer on open field in melawati year ago. if you are that person, i say you you very good and skillful then but today, you have added something in your game that you never have it those early years ago, you may not be agile or what ever as you said, but if you dont know. allow uncle to tell you then, you have added maturity in you game today compared to that time i seen years ago, if you are that same player i saw and perhaps played once in the school field then. you have added rich values into your game and play compared to those years and its an asset. you not old, unlike uncle, you can still be creative and agile with maturity in your soccer play.
i believe you can cos maybe you close to 30 or 30s only, you still have alot to offer and to give to the game.
i see maturity now in your play , maturity in your temprement, your emotion, better understanding of how the game should be play, i see you have broaden your style of play and thinkings,
you are still good as i last sawe you years ago. though you may not be fast as before but you still very good and with an added rich asset and its called maturity in your game.

i think i know who you are, if im right. you can approached me come this sunday and asked me, ans i will tell you who you are,
this sunday, as i said before, maturity plays the crucial part for teams in contention for the title, which ever teams showed most maturity, may turn out the winner n champ this time.

all the best to every team

I could write a fairytale just on this season alone. Amazing stuff all the way till the last game, last goal, last minute. No one would have predicted Sell-Si winning the cup as they started the day in fourth place.Well Done and Congrats to the Champions who showed us what grit and determination is all about, 'Never Say Die' would be my headline to this season. Or like shawn told me once when we played in the same game, 'Together We Are Strong'.
