SPLINTER GROUP
As part of our off-season training, we'll be having a paintball session on 1 November 2008 @ Bukit Jalil or Gombak (to be decided).
Unfortunately, participation is by prior confirmation only as we need to book the field in advance and need to pay hard-earned money for the deposit.
Those interested please leave a note and confirm your participation to Weeeeeeeliam aka hitman (formerly known as hitboy, but due to some, ahem, 'downsizing' operation, is now a man).

i've checked with the gombak place....mana ada rm30/35 starter pack ohh?
they quoted RM60/55 starter pack, inclusive of 200 pellets. if you work it out, it's still slightly cheaper than bkt jalil where the SP is RM45/30 for 50 pellets and add in the additional pellets cost. the difference is about RM10-20 only.
i've checked out their website; it's a belukar setting la(not really jungle, not really padang =).
in view of the rainy season, i think the bkt jalil is a better option, as we'll be playing on field of grass.
there's another option in gombak too..very real setup, with bunkers and all @ http://www.rimbaharmonispaintball.com/index.html
maybe we can try that out during dry season.

alamak, bkt jalil fields are fully booked for 1 nov.
for the gombak one, they don't encourage late afternoon games because of the rainy season, won't even want to take my bookings for the 4-6 slots.
alternative is sunday 4-6. who's game?

to solve the CHICKEN (got enough ppl or not) and EGG (got field or not) problem, i've pre-booked the field for 14 pax, so that we won't be disappointed again.

however, i will need to pay deposit one week before, meaaning this friday. so u guys better confirm the list.

there are a few range of mask..
1. Similar to those provided for 'free' - 89.90
2. Slightly better for beginner - 159.00 (but this one the sponge damn hard, like sand paper. So ur face will be very sore, however licin after using )
3. Still for beginner la, cover face better, sponge also softer - 239.00 (double layer lense for anti-fogging)
4. More toward pro stuff - 199.00 (color more chun than no.3, but lense only single layer, so it'll fog if rain/night).
5. Pro stuff onwards - 349 - 399 (very light weight, plenty of colors to choose from too. of course more gaya also).

Jungle or what they call scenario mask (we just got educated abt it today)are those that is in green and camouflage. This kinda mask very chun!! Cover the whole head like helmet. But heavier and also more expensive - 399
We all beginner, no need to get pro stuff la. But just get something tht is not too chekkai that u use for a while then need to upgrade which means u spend more than getting something that's slightly better than entry level.

haha, just bought mine 30 min ago.
so tempted to buy the more expensive ones coz color nicer but then, wisdom prevail lor....so this weekend you'd see henry, ryan and me wearing the same ones :)

for those who want to go solo, the place is behind the hockey stadium. after turning into bkt jalil, it's the first stadium you'll see on your left, turn left at the first road opening.
once turn left, you'll see the parking sign for the hockey stadium...DON'T PARK HERE!
continue driving SLOWLY and you'll see a small opening between the luminous cones. the small lane will lead you behind the stadium unto a roadabout. look for xtion paintball park sign and u won't be lost.

We should also try out places like Kemensah and Gombak. Yesterday's court was a bit disappointing by what we got.
Before xtionpaintball moved to Bkt Jalil, they use to have proper bunkers (cement wall, inflatables, barrels, etc.) in Sunway. Yes, even for beginners to use.
so, after yesterday's fogging masks.. and wet mask (dunno rain or sweat man!) how many of you going to buy new mask now? pls buy in group if you guys are interested. Get good discounts and if not mistaken they are going to hold the Asian Paintball World Cup soon,, so plenty of discounts from those booths.

if we want to play on first saturday, must book VERY VERY early, maybe 3-4 weeks prior...coz most saturdays are super peak.
that's was the reason we had to play on sunday....we tried booking 2 weeks in advance still cannot get!
paintball master is tired coz he did the tortoise dance....head poke out, shoot, shoot, head poke in. hahaha +)

hmm, the mask actually still can be used... we have to change our playing time to the afternoon. the other time i played in kemensah 10 o clock in the morning, the mask fogs up a little but still can see. yesterday was really bad. it's as good as close eyes and shoot. haha...
i din know that we're not allowed to use the field with the inflatable bunkers. when they just shifted i went and being a beginner they still allow us to utilise that field.
evening cant la. us without anti-fog mask cant see at all. i tink next time i'll only play in the afternoon. hehe

Wow, getting into paintball eh guys ? Which shop do you purchase your gear from ?
Pants are worth the money with the padding and it won't tear from slidding. I would also suggest elbow, knee pads.. for beginners just those white ones from JJ would do RM11 only... flexible and enough padding to protect your knees when you slide in... not to mention the "bounce" factor.. like pellets hitting your elbow pads and bouncing off instead of breaking does not count as hits so hehehe.
Mask is definitely a important and usually first choice of purchase if you're looking to play often. Do think of spending a little bit more. You won't regret this part.
you can buy previous year models and even 2nd hand stuff for much cheaper price. Just check the forums at xtionpaintball.com/forums .. tho i would not recommend 2nd hand mask, things like pants will do..
if you got the mask and pants as well as cheap protective padding, you might want to look into harnesses and pods to keep extra pellets, so you can reload in game and not worry about running out of pellets in your hopper only.
Those who want to buy more gear tho, i can hook you up with someone i've always purchased gear from during my days in the league. [including paintball markers]

-Rec-Ball / Senario (war games)
Kemensah has a very nice jungle battle field that i used to go but its infested by leeches.. you've been warned.. they've improved their facilities and added speedball field thats pretty nice.
Theres one in Gombak/Kepong area.. Nice senario esp the hill ones but.. mosquito infested like mad.. you have been warned as well lol.
Theres a car-park/ Urban warfare type arena near desa water park as well if you fancy.
If you guys want a taste of the action, why not try 1 tournament legs of the league in division 4 where you can use house markers or division 3 also can.. Per weekend if in KL look to spend around rm300
per person in a team of 7 (5 man game ) playing 10 games of prelims in day 1 and if you qualify for round 2 you can come back on day 2.. it's really fun and adrenaline packed.
There are also many mini-tournaments and beginner tournaments out there to wheat your appetite for the big ones too hehehe.

Flyboy, no difference whether afternoon or evening la. Fog in the evening was due to the rain. Playing speedball game 11-1 is crazy hot leh.
Jon Ong, where do you get your gears? The other day a few of us went to pro paintball shop in Kelana Jaya to buy mask/goggles. And thanks for the info. FYI, shawn went there in his futsal outfit (shorts and jersey!).. lol

There is also Skirmish Paintball Asia at Damansara Perdana... and Napshot Paintball at that area too.
Best bet for good deals would be certain 2nd hand gears, gears from previous year models (eg: 07, 06 or if you can find even 05 range) some old range brand new is so much cheaper. I got the Dye 06 Pants which retailed 500+ when launched i got it 1 year later during year end sale organized by Xtionpaintball, got it at rm380.

yes la. makes a lot of difference. i played in kemensah that time in the afternoon. hot weather less fog. can see better. tat day in bukit jalil really cant see at all =.=
when u get the adrenaline flowing already the sun doesnt matter. haha. i don't think i will play in the evening anymore. no point playing when u cant see! lol
