Week 3 In Review : 7 September 2008

Match 7 : Live-Like-Fools vs Florence&Tina (1-3)
LLF controlled the game from the start but it was FLT which scored first against the run of play from a corner. The ball was delivered to Melvyn who placed the ball past the blindsided goalkeeper. LLF shock was compounded when Alwin put FLT further ahead to complete a sleek counter attack move. At this point, FLT started to slow the game down to frustrate the chasing LLF. A miscalculated backpass from Jeremy saw Lil’kev sneaked in to place the ball pass the on-rushing keeper. At 3-0 down, LLF were increasingly frustrated but were given a vital lifeline when Jeremy pulled a goal back. LLF tried to increase the game tempo after that but FLT held firm till the final whistle.

MOTM – Alwin Lim (FLT)

Match 8 : Real Madreed vs Men’s-ChestHair (1-6)
RM makes vital changes to their line-up after their disastrous outing last week. Norman was put in goal as Chris injured his hand while Suresh made a comeback after missing the last two weeks. The changes seemed to have a positive effect as RM were having the upperhand while MCH was pinned down in their own half. Like the first game, MCH scored first against the run of play when Honyau’s shot deflected off 2 defenders to roll past the stranded goalkeeper. Both teams keep trading shots and MCH went further ahead with goals from Andy and Honyau. RM kept fighting and it was Norman’s heroics between the posts that kept RM from going further behind. RM’s persistence bore fruit when Suresh pulled one goal back. However, it was futile as MCH crushed RM’s challenge with further goals from Andy and Flyboy.

MOTM – Andy (MCH)

Match 9 : Live-Like-Fools vs JC's Barf-alone-ah (3-5)
LLF were caught flat-footed after their first game as JC raced to a 3-0 lead within 3 minutes of the start. Stunned LLF managed to recollect their composure and came fighting with a goal from Henry. However, JC scored again to stretch their lead to 4-1. James and Edwin then scored for LLF to narrow the score to 3-4. At this point, the fans were cheering for LLF to score another goal but they were left disappointed as it was JC which scored the last goal through Jireh, who was later substituted and went out to a standing ovation from the crowd.

MOTM – Daniel (JC)

This season sees two teams standing out from the rest .
Hats off esp to both MCH and F&T for playing such good passing football , thus unlocking the tightest of defence.
Wonder who will be tops at the end of the season ? or will it be the dark horse JC's again ?
Well just have to wait on and see .

Dark Horse? After last season theres no such thing as dark horses, just the 'last-day-jitters team'. It will all come down to mental strenght at the of the day.

Jireh was awesome la, he has grown so much in his play. Sadly we had to substitute him as we decided to defend after his goal.

last day jitters? nonsense!

the whole shennanigans reeked of the fetid and obscene stench of corruptions!

didn't it suprise you that the alleged 2 main perpetrators of the last day fracas is not managing any team this season?

Leaked official document has it that while the Futsal Committee didn't have conclusive and incontrovertible proof that those 2 managers were on the take, the Committee has sufficient reason to believe they have and were engaged in mala-fide intention and machination.

Hence, those 2 managers were let off with one season suspension from managing. Their future managerial career will be review at the end of this season.

rumours are circulating that since RM and LLF are out of the title race, they are 'open' for negotiations to fix the results for the chasing team.

but dunno how true leh....

Thanks for the games guys, it's been quite an experience to play with and against you guys =D

That was my last game , with my last contribution beating my man on the left to miskick the ball intending to shoot ended up as a cross which fortunately Jireh was there to convert =D good finish!

Will be flying off on 19th but this coming weekend will be back in hometown so effectively that was it =(

thanks shawn for accomodating me in the team and all the best for the remaining of the season!

To everyone else, thanks again for the opportunity to play in the league, Cheers!

We will surely miss you John.....You have the potential...work hard and perfect your skills....UK is however better pasture for you and your football.

Cheers

hey Jon, I thought you could play the whole season? Shawn and your team will miss you a lot for your ball distribution and holding on to the ball.

Shawn's team seems weaker now?

Anyway, all the best to you.

Yeah definitely weaker without John now, look at how he defended yesterday. Though we let in three goals, no one would've been able to stop an own goal and a deflected shot. Thx for your contribution John, UK is indeed a perfect place to harness your football skill.

Dunworry bout JC's team, shawn still has himself in the team . He can outrun any fella a few(many)times over in the court for a few games with energy to spare . He can bring the ball right left up down and even play keeper if need be .Without jon he can still deliver ..right shawn ?

LoL, thanks jc's supporter. Im flattered. Il try my best not to disappoint you but as we all know that we have to do whats best for the team. Since JC is lacking in defense, thats where im gonna be playing for the rest of the season, although i would love to go all out to attack and score, i do have players that are already capable of doing that job e.g. Jeshua, Daniel, Lionel & Jireh!HeHeHe.
Balancing futsal and studies hasn't been easy this semester. Haven been to the gym for the past one month already and i think everyone can see the huge dip in form. Sadly i cant agree with you on the 'outrun any fella' point. Theres so many new players that have amazing burst of pace this season e.g Hon Yau & 'the fit version' of Wee Liam.
LoL, keeper, il leave that to Aaron, honestly without a doubt hes an amazing keeper. Many ppl tend to underestimate him but he is probably one of the best shot-stoppers ive seen. Though he has conceded some hilarious goals in the past, he is one of the main reason why our team won yesterday.
Once again i have to say MCH is the team to beat, and the form they are in now, doesn't look like they are gonna slip up any point in time.

Think RM this sunday should huddle up , sit together , hold each others hands and sing the song " More than words " ..to spur each other on Maybe that would help ...them get a draw : )

2:17 PM

Anonymous Anonymous said...

ERmmmm ...if they want to win ...what should they do ?...u ask ...ermmm ...
THEY NEED DISTRACTION ...lots of it No no no ...Not elephants again. Doesn't mean elephants wouldn't work but comeon , we have to think logic , How do u get two of them in the futsal court ? tell me ..

2:34 PM

guru gilbratormathongs,

i think u're confusing your players instead :P

2:37 PM

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hah ..that's da point ...
u catch it fast my dear donald fren.
They should be confuse enough to think that they are diferrent people all together ...for instance gilbert will think he is maradona , suresh will think he is beckenbaur , chris will think he is shilton ...

3:11 PM

Anonymous Anonymous said...

fren, those players all retired long time ago la... afterwards all play like they're in 50s, then kena tapao la!

Try la younger ones like Fabregas, Ronaldo, Tevez, Gerrard, etc.
