Latest Futsal Boots

Our spy in the Balkan peninsular has uncovered futsal boots with cutting edge technology. These boots were initially designed for the Russians to dominate the futsal world but after the end of the Cold War and the ouster of Boris Yeltsin, the plans were all but forgotten.

The plans for these space technology boots were destined for the rubbish heap of history when our spy which poses as an undercover janitor, stumbled upon them on his cleaning rounds.

For those interested, orders can be placed on amazon.com. Check it out!

It's a World Cup Thing...

It has been brought to our attention that the latest postings on this blog has no option to insert comments.

To investigate this problem, we've set up an inter-departmental royal commission which comprised senior members of this highly esteemed organisation.

The result of their investigation, which involved interviews with all website maintenance personnel, senior managers, ah soo the tea lady, mahmood the night cleaner and other relevant personnels; and wire tapping of all phone conversations; are as follows :-

1. Gross negligence by the website maintenance staff. They were updating the blog halfway when they stopped to witness the referee broke the all time Finals yellow and red cards record in the Portugal-Netherlands match.

2. At the same time, Ah Soo the tea lady was passing by and accidentally spilt tea on one of the keyboards as she caught the sight of Arjen Robben's tight (so tight it's almost gay) shorts.

3. Mahmood, our diligent night cleaner, not distracted Robben's tights, was quick to spot the infringement and whipped out his all-purpose cleaner in mere miliseconds to clean up the mess.

4. In his excitement, he accidentally press the "NO COMMENTS" option on the blog site.

5. Hence, all postings after that unfortunate incident, no comments were allowed to be posted.

6. To prevent future recurrence of such events, we've given STRICT INSTRUCTIONS that no tea shall be served when Arjen Robben wear his tights. (Thank goodness Netherlands is out of WC).

Please feel free to drop a comment or two in our future postings.

It's a World Cup thing, I'd tell you.

Match Highlights 25 June 2006

3 matches were played on 25 June 2006. Here are the results and highlights :-

Match 1 : Real Madreed 1 - AC Melon 1

AC Melon took to the match severely understrength and missing some of their important players, most notably their dependable 'keeper-cum-manager, Kevo. In spite of their situation, Melon took a shock lead thru an early strike by their main marksman, Suresh. Real Madreed, angered by their lapse of concentration and perhaps a hint of over confidence, pounded Melon defence mercilessly in search of a goal to level the score. Melon's stand-in keeper, Edwin, making his debut in the league, did extremely well to thwart Madreed's advances as Melon defended stubbornly trying to hold out for an unlikely win.

Madreed's efforts were rewarded about 5 minutes from time when a shot from Oon deflected of a defender's leg and sailed past the stranded 'keeper. Both sides continued to pepper each other goal with shots but with no success and the match ended 1-all.

Man-of-the-match : Edwin Lim - AC Melon

Match 2 : Rarelyreal 6 - Whereda Breadman 3

[Pending]

editor's note : the reporter covering that match was set upon by disgruntled and violent Whereda Breadman's ultra-supporters, nicknamed the 'Bad Yeasts', and as a result is suffering temporary amnesia due to blunt traumas to the posterior region (repeatedly kicked in the butt).
We joined his family to pray for his quick recovery and perhaps then, we can give you the match highlights.

Match 3 : Celpigs 0 - Real Madreed 1

[Pending]

editor's note : No, there's no disgruntled supporters this time, but you know celPigs, they eat EVERTHING. Our reporter was foolish enough to leave his notes unattended after the match and the Pigs had a go at them. We've no choice but to wait for the digestive system to work its magic and hopefully the notes will come out intact. Then, may god bless the person who invented Dettol.

Match Highlights 18 June 2006

3 Matches were played on 18 June 2006. Here are the results and highlights :-

Match 1 : Whereda Breadman 2 - Real Madreed 2

Both teams started the match furiously as goalmouth actions swung from end to end. W.Breadman took the lead when Shawn's shot hit the post and rebounded out fortuitously to Hon Yau who gleefully tucked in the goal.

Taken aback by the early strike, R.Madreed struck back to level the score with the goal coming from Oon. Minutes later, Oon struck again from almost the same spot to give R.Madreed a 2-1 lead going into half-time.

In the second half, W.Breadman managed to level the score thru a fine strike by Shawn. Despite numerous attempts at goal, both teams failed to score any more goals and the game ended 2 all.

Man-of-the-match : Oon Get Haw - Real Madreed

Match 2 : Rarely Real 0 - AC Melon 0

Great goalkeeping was the order of the day as both teams fails to breakdown each other defences. AC Melon, playing with only one striker due to injuries, failed to breakdown R.Real defences and were consigned to hitting long shots. On one rare occasion where they managed to break thru, R.Real goalie produced two superb consecutive saves to deny Melon the goal.

Not to be outdone, Melon's goalie was in fine form too, saving two point blank shots from R.Real strikers. With not many shots forthcoming, the match played out to a goalless draw.

Man-of-the-match : Sirn Loong - Rarely Real

Match 3 : Celpigs 1 - W.Breadman 1

An intense match, with Celpigs all fired up after being narrowly defeated in the last week's game by AC Melon. Celpigs played like men posssed as they pressed W.Breadman's defence.

Edrian scored Celpigs' first goal as after some nifty passing by the team to split W.Breadman's defence. After the first goal, W.Breadman's defence seemed to have gone to Germany as Edrian found himself one-on-one with the goalie no less than three times in the first half. Unfortunately, he didn't have his lucky boots on as he shot aimlessly at the panic-stricken goalie.

Second half was similar to the first, with W.Breadman attacking and Celpigs hitting them on the counter-attacks. Celpigs were almost on the home run for their first win of the season when disaster struck.

An innocuous challenge gave W.Breadman a freekick on the right side of the field. As Jeshua lined up to take the shot, Celpigs opted for a two-men wall. However, the wall wasn't positioned properly and Jeshua managed to sneak his shot past the wall and into the near post, while the goalie was made a stunned spectator.

Man-of-the-match : Edrian -Celpigs United

Match 2 : Real Madreed 2 vs Rarely Real 1

[Pending]
editor's note - the reporter covering that match is currently assigned to cover Germany 2006 in Berlin. Unfortunately, he brought the match notes with him too. We will ask him to Fedex the notes back soonest possible. Thanks.

Match 3 : CelPigs United 0 vs AC Melon 1

MFC debutants for this season, Celpigs United, came boasting a line-up that is very strong defensively. AC Melon came to the match licking their wounds after a bruising defeat in their first match.

AC Melon started the match strongly as Celpigs seemed content to sit back and absorb the punches. Plays were restricted to the middle of the field as a protracted battle waged between the midfielders.

Gradually, AC Melon began winning the midfield battle as Celpigs began to tired out. Last season golden boot winner, Suresh of AC Melon, managed to shake off his marker on the right side of the field to rifle in the solitary goal of the match.

Man-of-the-match : Suresh - AC Melon

Match Highlights 11 June 2006

Three matches were played today. Here are the results and the highlights :-

Match 1: AC Melon 2 Whereda Breadman 3

AC Melon, last season champions, started nervously against last season runners-up. Whereda Breadman drew first blood when a speculative shot from the halfway line was allowed to slip out of AC Melon keeper's grasp and rolled over the line.

Things got worse for the defending champions when another long range effort hit the back of the net. Their misery was compounded when Whereda Breadman surge to a 3-0 lead.

The third goal woke the champions from their slumber and they managed to claw a goal back to end the first half with the score standing at 3-1.

Second half saw AC Melon displaying their championship mettle, which was sorely missing in the first half, pounding Whereda Breadman's defence incessantly. Their unceasing efforts paid off when they scored their second goal to make the score 3-2.

However, that was going to be the last goal of the match and resolute defending sealed all 3 points for Whereda Breadman.

Man-of-match :Hon Yau - Whereda Breadman

Let the games begin!

It's finally here!

The exciting new season of My Futsal League (MFC) has kicked-off last week on 10 June 2006.

This season also sees the introduction of two new teams, RarelyReal and Celpig United; while last season underachieving team, FC Toink, has had their sponsorship and participation contract prematurely terminated due to some financial difficulties.

The list of teams participating this season (Series 2/2006) are as follows :-

1. AC Melon (last season, Series 1/2006 champions)
2. Whereda Breadman (Series 1/2006 runners-up)
3. Real Madreed
4. Celpig United
5. RarelyReal

May the best team wins!
