Week 4 : 24.2.08

Match 7 : Shiock 3 – Little-Poo 1

Shiock Treatment

There was no love lost between these two teams as the Poos came out eager to erase the memories of their huge loss to the Shiockers earlier.

Poos started strongly and were controlling the game but couldn’t seem to get past Shiockers seemingly impregnable defense. Shiockers stole the initiative from the Poos when Matthew let fly a blistering shot that rocketed past the Poos’ defence and keeper for the first goal.

The goal seemed to deflate the Poos and a defensive blunder shortly after allowed Henry to score Shiockers second goal. Hurted and bruised, the Poos recomposed and managed reduce the deficit when Lil’kev’s cross found Oon who struck the ball mercilessly into goal.

Charged up, the Poos’ momentum was interrupted by the half time whistle and change of court. Again, the Shiockers delivered another sucker punch when a defensive mix-up saw Matthew blasting the ball past the static Poos players.

Poos suffered another blow when their main player, Lil’kev was injured and can’t continue. The match then descended into chaos as Shiockers keep halting play and changing their players.

The Poos came close to scoring through some fine works by Lawrence and Oon but for the heroics of Shiockers keeper and the goal post.

Match 8 : Real Madreed 4 – FC Pasar 1

Routed

Their earlier meeting ended in a draw but there was no sign of that happening in this match. Pasar looked lethargic while RM was looking very sharp, especially Edrian who seemed to have found his form after the new year break.

RM’s first goal came when a burst of adrenaline (and rogue testosterone?) saw Aaron the keeper trying to launch a quick counter attack. However, his run was cut short when he lost the ball to Edrian at the half way line. Edrian then have the simplest task of shooting into the empty net. The Pasar players tried to block the shot but were merely inches unlucky.

RM added their lead with a fine shot by Andy from edge of the penalty box. Edrian got another goal with a rocket of a shot shortly before half time.

Pasar resumed the second half looking more composed and managed to match RM move for move. However, it was RM who scored when Jeshua, who was threatening whole day long, rounded the keeper expertly to slot home RM’s third.

Pasar fought back gamely and breakthrough came when Jongchiueh produced an electrifying solo run on the right flank that ended with a goal that got the crowd cheering. Sadly, the goal came too little too late to save Pasar, who’s still looking for their first win.
MOTM - Andy

ACA CLOSES CASE

The ACA has decided to close the case due to insufficient evidence. However, several players were banished and transferred to other teams to mitigate their undue influence on team selections, tactics and close relationship to the bookies.
It was alleged that some players were even wearing state-of-the-art miniature Bluetooth headset while playing, in an apparent attempt to keep contact with the bookies.

The players transferred are as follows:-
a. Peter Yang – transferred to Shiock 04
b. Alwin Lim – transferred to Little-Poo
c. Leonard – transferred to Real Madreed
d. Edwin Lim – transferred to FC Pasar

High ranking unnamed sources had secretly revealed that the investigation have apparently unearthed links to many high ranking and distinguished members of society. Subsequently, orders to close the case came from very high up after rumours of ‘kow-tim’ Chinese New Year dinners, lou-sang and six-figures ang pow packets.

MATCH FIXING

ACA TO INVESTIGATE!

The Anti Corruption Agency has initiated an investigation into the current season of MFC-FutsalFeva after reports were lodged with Bukit Aman on alleged match-fixing and brokering of appointment of referee for certain matches.

The managers, players and fans alike have been suggesting something fishy is going on and the ACA’s investigation seemed to alas justify their suspicion.

On Monday afternoon, the MFC’s administration office was raided by a group of 23 officers from the ACA and eyewitness reports said that almost 99 boxes of documents were carted away.

Included in the document are an alleged video clip of the current president brokering for referees appointment. Henry Ling-Kam vehemently denied that he was in video clip by stating that the person in the clip sounds like him and looks like him but he can’t be 100% sure it’s him.

The ACA has advised that all matches be suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.

On Tuesday, in a jam packed press conference held in the Palace of the Golden Donkeys, the MFC has issued a statement that all matches have been suspended for two (2) weeks pending the ACA investigation.

Hence, there will be no matches on the 10 February and 17 February. However, the fields will be opened for training on 17 February 2008.

The FA expects all matches to resume as normal on 24 February 2008.

The FA further took the opportunity to wish all of its’ members and fans a happy and prosperous new year.

Matches on 3.2.08

Match 5 : FC Pasar 0 – Shiock 3

Waxed Ducks

Another game, another win for the Shiockers. Pasar led by Ducky started very well and matched the strong Chickens strength for strength. However, the Shiockers edged ahead when Henry took advantage of a confusion to score past the distracted keeper.

The confusion arose when one of Pasar’s players was felled in the center circle. Pasar’s players stopped playing expecting the whistle but the referee let play continue and Henry sneaked into an open space to score. Talked about tow-kai…

The Chickens added another goal when a long throw by their keeper was met by Matthew to head into goal. Pasar rallied their players and attacked but the defence led by Kokwai was more than able to nullify all threats.

Kokwai killed off any hope that Pasar might have by scoring Shiocks’ third and last goal in the match; with a blistering shot from the halfway line.

MOTM – Kokwai

Match 6 : Real Madreed 2 – Little-Poo 1

Comeback Kids

Little-Poo started the match with the same line-up as last week. They controlled the tempo of the match and RM was left chasing shadows. Breakthrough came when Oon scored through a sea of legs to give the Poos a morale booster.

However, after a few substitutions, RM equalized thru a fine shoot by Ray which left the keeper floundering. The goal seemed to galvanize RM as they begin to snatch the control from the Poos. RM edged ahead when a seemingly harmless shot bounced off Ray’s legs and rolled freakishly and slowly into goal. Karma for Lil’kev's rooftop goal?

Little-Poo can’t seemed to recover from that shock. When the Poos pushed higher in the closing minutes of the match, RM almost got another goal except for some frantic defending and magnificent blocking by Lawrence.
