Champions League : Chelsea - Liverpool

Our pundits wholeheartedly predict a big win for the Reds. We based our prediction on the strength and focus of the Liverpool players.

They kept their eyes on ball, not wavering, while the Chelsea players kept their eyes, legs, head and roaming amorous hands on the wrong bal...err, things. Just look at Malouda's hand and you'll know what I meant.

Champions League MU-Barca

Our pundits predict a Barcelona victory at 2-1. Guesses anyone?

Should be a fairly easy game for Barca, especially if they all play like Rio, sleeping on the job (pic above).

Forza Barca, speak the truth and shame the Devils :P

Week 2 Round-up : 27 April 2008

Match 7 : Shiock 04 vs Funny Pasir (2-2)
Both teams started the match confidently. FP showed their intent early on with Andy testing the Shiockers’ keeper with a dipping shot that unfortunately clipped the post. Jeremy scored the first goal for Shiockers against the run of play. This forced FP to introduce their secret hitman, Lawrence. The move paid off when Lawrence equalized for FP. Kokwai returned the lead for Shiockers and defended stubbornly in the face of FP’s response. Lawrence came to FP’s rescue again when he capitalized on a stray back pass by the Shiockers. Confusion ensued when the Shiockers claimed the ball didn’t cross the line. After consulting with the assistant referee, the match referee awarded the goal and the score remained till end.

Match 8 : Real Madreed vs Sell-Si FC (5-0)
After impressive back to back wins last week, SS went into the match will all guns blazing. RM, who had mixed fortune last week, responded well and got the first goal thru Oon. Shocked, SS were further traumatized when Oon scored again from a corner. Shawn tried to rally his SS troops but RM exposed their defensive frailty again when Suresh hit a rocket passed their helpless goalie. Things began to boil at this point as the SS players were showing their frustration with late tackles, shoving and pushing and this prompted the RM players to respond in kind. The referee had to stop the game a few times to talk and calm the players down. RM rounded up the match with two other goals from Suresh and Oon to give SS a real hammering.

Match 9 : Shiock 04 vs MenChest’sHair United (1-1)
Jeremy proved to be Shiocker’s secret weapon extraordinaire this season as he opened the scoring again, this time a beauty that nestled at the top far corner. MCU fought back gamely, a hallmark of their game this season, and leveled the score when David’s shot was stopped by the goalie but the ball rolled underneath his body passed the line. Galvanised, MCU pressed ahead and almost got the lead when Daniel’s ferocious shot was parried by the goalie, hit the post and bounced out. Shiock pressed forward and would have gotten a few more goals if not for the magnificent display by MCU’s goalie, Samshen, who was in a uncompromising mood.

Match 10 : Real Madreed vs Severe-ah? (2-1)
The team at the middle of the managers controversy, SA, managed to put up a full team after the mid-week debacle. Weeliam passed a late fitness by the team doctor and started the match as SA’s keeper. However, within 30 seconds of the kick-off and SA are 1-0 down. Although SA got the kick-off, they lost possession of the ball almost immediately to Suresh (RM) and he wasted no time in sending the ball to the top corner. The game settled down after that and there were plenty of passing by the SA team but no penetration. After a lull, Oon managed to dispossess Verat and drilled low shot for RM second goal. Lil’kev urged his team on and pulled one back for SA after a few tries.

Match 11 : Funny-Pasir vs Sell-Si FC (1-1)
Smarting from the earlier thrashing, SS managed to give a more composed display this time. Both teams were pushing hard and testing each other keeper. Samuel Thye gave SS the lead when he sneaked behind the last defender and scored with ample of time and space. FP made a few substitutions with the aim to unsettle SS. With the clock running down, Andy pushed forward and scored a cracker to level the score for FP and gave them their third draw from 4 games.

Match 12 : MCU vs Severe-ah? (2-1)
MCU continued with their impressive display by beating SA in the last match of the day. SA were using a stand-in keeper, Aaron, as Weeliam was unable to play. MCU first goal came courtesy of Daniel, who headed in the long throw from Samshen, past the shocked Aaron. SA again played their short passing game but still can’t seem to find that important edge. Daniel and Samshen combined again to give MCU their second and Ryan pulled one back for SA.

New Head Referee Rumour

At the end of last week's first matchday, many complaints were lodged, albeit unofficially, about the level of refereeing in the league. Numerous tackles went unnoticed, corners wrongly given and not less that a few valid goals disallowed.

Pressurred by such inefficiencies, rumours are flying furiously that a new head referee may be appointed.

Futsal-feva's chief reporter has got an exclusive scoop on the rumoured candidate....we haven't got a name yet but we've got picture.....and picture always says a thousand word :

Week 1 Round-up : 20 April 2008

Match 1 : Sell-Si FC vs Men’sChesthair Utd (4-3)

2 new teams with debutant managers slogged it out in this thrilling match. Shots were flying fast furious, right from kick-off. Samuel Thye (SS) scored the first goal of the season, scoring from a precise squared ball from his team mates. MCU struck back with Daniel hammering the ball into the low corner. Lionel nutmeg the goalie for SS second goal only for Daniel to equalized again when he beat SS’ keeper to the ball. The pattern continued with Ray Leong (SS) scoring from the halfway line and David equalizing for MCU. SS got the final break when Lionel scored from a corner and MCU didn’t have enough time to reply.

Match 2 : Shiock 04 vs Real Madrid (2-0)

The defending champion begins their defence of the league title in their usual business-like manner, playing a patient and controlled passing game. Not much action in this match as both teams cancelled each other out. Shiockers’ manager Kokwai made a few desperate but illegal sliding blocks, which curiously was allowed by the referee. Shiockers edged ahead in the dying minutes of the game when Jeremy blasted a shot to the top corner and Jianyi added a second.

Match 3 : Funny-Pasir vs Men’sChesthair Utd (0-1)

FP controlled the match but was lacking an attacking edge. Aiming for a win to start off their campaign, FP threw everything but the kitchen sink at MCU but found MCU’s keeper, Samshen, in marvelous and uncompromising form. Samshen’s saves frustrated FP’s players time and time again. MCU nicked the victory when an unfortunate deflection saw the ball rolled past FP’s keeper for the solitary goal of the match.

Match 4 : Sell-Si FC vs Severe-ah? (4-3)

Shawn (SS) scored the first hat-trick of the season in this pulsating match, with Jeshua scoring the other goal for SS. SA were forced to play the beginning portion of the match with only 4 players as Andrew were forced out by an injury. However, he braved the pain and gamely came back on to help his team when he saw that SS were bullying SA and running riot with their extra man. With the number of players balanced now, SA hit back with goals from Andrew, Jong Chuieh and Ryan but were unable to stop SS from notching their second successive victory.

Match 5 : Funny-Pasir vs Real Madreed (0-0)

A match of little chances, with the best chance going to Oon, when his shot hit the post and bounced out. With Andy (FP) marshalling the defence splendidly, FP kept on pouring forward but was lacking the edge in the final third of the field. RM played well but FP’s keeper was hardly made to sweat in this rather bland match.

Match 6 : Shiock 04 vs Severe-ah? (4-2)

In this strange match, both teams played with 4 players only. Jianyi (Shiock) scored first and Kokwai added a second before Lil’Kev replied back for SA. Henry (Shiock) and Ryan then scored to make it 3-2. SA almost equalized when the score was 3-2 but their goal was disallowed as SA has committed a foul prior to the goal. Shocked, SA failed to recover quickly enough before Shiock turn the table and scored another goal immediately.
