Week 3 : Upcoming Matches On 3.2.08

Match 5 @ 4.30 pm : FC Pasar vs Shiock 04

2 games, 2 wins. A real impressive debut for Shiock 04 and its manager, Kokwai. With its impressive showing, the Shiockers will aim to extend its winning streak against a demoralized Pasar team.

After 2 games, Pasar is still without a win and will be desperate to snatch victory in this game. Duckie (Ryan) will need to rally his Mighty Ducks team to play the game of their lives if they wish to deny the Mad Chickens all 3 points.

Don’t expect any chickens to be sold in the market this week. Ducks meat going cheap, though.

Match 6 @ 5.00 pm : Real Madreed vs Little-Poo

The Poos will be hoping to continue their rebuilding and consolidation process after getting their first win last week. The Poos manager has been talking a lot since that win; hopefully his players will not constipate on the actions after releasing so much gas.

RM, meanwhile, are in disarray after entering the record for the worst start for a defending champion. Gilbert has been seen patronizing ‘tongkat ali’ stalls to find the remedy for his team lackluster display.

Expect the Poos to edge it with superior team morale.

LEAGUE STANDING @ 27.1.08

SHIOCK 04---------6 PTS
LITTLE-POO-------3 PTS
FC PASAR-----------1 PTS
REAL MADREED---1 PTS

Match 4 : Real Madreed 0 – Shiock 2

Winning Streak?

Shiock continued their fine form by chalking a victory against last season winner, RM. The Chicken Trio and gang started aggressively and were attacking menacingly from the first whistle. Shiock got their first goal when Christopher failed to block Matthew’s shot cleanly and Andrew gleefully tuck the ball into an empty net. RM tried to rally back but looked slightly disorganized in attack and Shiock’s keeper was rarely trouble.

Second half looked the same with play swinging from side to side. RM almost got the equalizer but Ray’s shot hit the post and bounced out. That was the closest RM has gotten as Shiock recovered quickly and closed up shop. Playing on the counter, Shiock sealed their win when Matthew unleashed a ferocious shot that gave Christopher no chance at all.

MOTM : Matthew (Shiock)

Match 3 : Little-Poo 3 – FC Pasar 2

Poo Power!

Both teams started the match cautiously. Little-Poo changed their line-up by Sirnloong in goal while their manager made his outfield debut after 2 seasons in goal. Both defenses performed solidly and the keepers were not too bothered as shots were restricted to long range high shots.

Breakthrough came when substitute Edwin latched to a loose ball and placed a low shot passed his marker and Pasar’s keeper. Looking unperturbed, Pasar worked harder for the equalizer but Poo’s defence remained watertight.

Lil’kev then hit a candidate for the (freak) goal of the tournament when his shot bounced from the top of the net roofing past a stunned Aaron for Poo’s second goal. Aaron protested but the referee point to the centre circle to confirm the goal. Poo’s third goal came courtesy of another fine display by Lil’kev.

With the score at 3-0, Poo started to take it easy and was almost made to pay for it when Pasar grabbed 2 late goals by Daniel and Jongchiueh. However, there was no late minute heroic this time as the referee blew for full time shortly after Pasar’s second goal.
MOTM : Lil’kev (Poo)

Week 2 : 27 January 2008

Match 4 @ 5.00 pm : Real Madreed vs. Shiock 04

Shiock is on a roll after thrashing Little-Poo last week and will hope to continue its smashing good form. Its players have shown good understanding and gelled together well. How will they fare against a RM team who were robbed of a victory last week by a last minute goal?
RM, as usual, by will be helmed by Steady-Andy while Shiock will parade their awesome three-some of Kokwai, Henry and Matthew (Mad-Hen-n-Cock : )

Week 2 : 27 January 2008

Match 3 @ 4.30 pm : FC Pasar Vs Little-Poo

Just like its real life twin, Little-Poo is suffering from a dip of form due to boardroom tussle and ownership issue between GBH Ceramics and Johnson Suisse, two renowned toilet-bowl and ceramic makers. The manager is desperately hoping to get his team to re-focus on the matches ahead.
Meanwhile, FC Pasar is very eager to get their season rolling with a first victory, after narrowly avoiding defeat last week. A victory will be especially sweet and monumental to their new keeper, Aaron, who has NEVER tasted a single victory in the past 2 seasons, despite being with different team. Jinxed, perhaps?

Match 2 : Real Madreed 2 – FC Pasar 2

Fast & Furious

Both teams started aggressively, attacking every ball and defending every nook and corner. The game was fast and furious, with playing swinging from side to side. FC Pasar struck first with a wonderful goal from Daniel, who managed to side-step the last defender to set up a one-on-one with the keeper. Undaunted, RM talismanic playmaker, Alwin, displayed some wonderful dribbling skills to score the equalizer.

Later,Jeshua 'went to pasar and bought a goal' and what a beautiful goal it was, a sweet rasping shot to the bottom left, well angled past the despairing dive of the keeper. Play got a bit bogged down in midfield after that, with RM seemingly trudging to a win.

When the seemingly last corner of the game was awarded to Pasar, both teams made two substitutions each. While the RM subs did well, Pasar’s subs did magic, as substitute Lionel hit a golden shot; which went underneath the keeper’s body for the last and equalizing goal of the match.

Match 1 : Shiock 7 – Little-Poo 1

Shiock-ing Win!

For all the hype and expectation, Little-Poo started the season on a disastrous mood, being whipped mercilessly 7-1 by the newcomers, Shiock 04. Shiock scored early to set the tone for the match with a goal from Andrew from the right. Shiock struck again shortly after some nice passing; which cut Little-Poo defence to shred. Little-Poo fought back gamely and reduced the deficit when Kevin Lee fed Oon a nice through ball from the centre; which Oon struck sweetly beyond the keeper’s reach.

However, it went down the sewer pipes for the Poos from there as Shiock ran riot, with slick passing play slicing the the Poos defence like a hot knife through the butter. A superb victory for Shiock, a crushing defeat for the Poos

MATCH OF DA WEEK

Here's a preview of the matches to be played this Sunday, 20.1.08 :-

Match 1 @ 5.30 pm : Shiock 04 vs Little-Poo

This season new entrant, Kok Wai's Shiock 04 will face-off against last season runner-up, Little-Poo, managed by Kevin Tay. Little-Poo is hoping that a change of name will change its fortune after narrowly missing the title last season. Little-Poo has managed to retain its prolific striker, Oon and the services of the slow-but- steady-ala-Hyppia player, Verat. It has added upcoming star defenders, Kevin Lee and Jonathan Yong into its rank and the team looked really solid at the back.

Shiock Mati team is hoping that the curse of new entrants will not befall them. Last season new entrants, Celpigs, were roasted, toasted and accosted out of the league after finishing the season without a single victory. With the likes of proven players like Henry, Matthew and Samshen, just to name a few on their roster, they look good for the challenge.

On paper, both teams look balanced and the match could go either way. Little-Poo has a slight advantage due to its fantastic results in the previous two seasons.

Bookmaker's odds : Little-Poo 0 : 0.25 Shiock 04 (Little-Poo to give even and half goal)

Match 2 @ 6.00 pm : Real Madreed vs FC Pasar

Last season champs, Gilbert's Real Madreed, is pitted against FC Pasar, managed by Ryan. Real Madreed has managed to retain the core of its players from previous season and looked strong in pre-season when they beat Pulau Ketam's under-8 (1-0) and Kuala Krai under-10 (3-1). Their last warm-up match against Jinjang under-9 was cancelled when Real Madreed's manager staged a walk-out after protesting the rough play and constant swearing by the under-9 team.

However, FC Pasar is not to be taken lightly, and could boast of having one of the last season best players, Jong Chiueh. Their ranks are boosted by the signing of the highly experienced utility player, Peter Yang.

Bookmaker's odds : Real M 0 : 0.25 FC Pasar (Real M to give even and half goal)

Gentlemen, let the games begin!

Roll of Honours

All the games have been played, all results in and winners determined.

After all the broken limbs, sprained ankles, sore bruises and equally bruised egos, it would have been deemed worth it, judging from the delighted faces dotting the futsal court on the final day of the challenge series.

After all the blood, sweat and no tears (real futsallers don’t cry, you know), here are the champion team for MFC 2007 Series 2 :-

Real Madreed!!!

Congrats, guys!
